Join Andrea for a Suffrage Tea at the Women's Club of Laguna Beach.  100 years ago California suffragists waged a sensational political campaign that women the right to vote on October 11, 1911.  The narrow victory transformed the politicial landscape and made California the sixth state in the union where women could vote - nine years before the passage of the 19th amendment, which gave the vote to all American women.

Come in your best 1911 attire or in white, purple and yellow accents (the suffrage colors) and celebrate this momentous occasion.  The event is free the public and donations are encouraged.

Join Gather The Women to celebrate the 90th anniversary of women's right to vote.  Andrea will be speaking on the journey of America's suffragettes.  How many of us know that Susan Anthony was not alone in the pursuit for the right to vote or that she was not even alive when the 19th amendment to the constitution was passed.  Before Martin Luther King and even Ghandi, over 72 years and three generations, America's women persistently and intelligently demonstrated that rights can be gained without shots being fired or lives being lost.
